What kind of things can the image capture environments do?
The capture environment allows you to capture still images,
movies and sound. In this environment, you can import pictures and
movies from your digital video camera and also record sound from
your audio CD and mike.

Captured video is Jumpy and captures for 2 or 3 seconds
You will have to first enable DMA
(Direct Memory Access) by Clicking Start menu, point to
Settings, click Control Panel and then double-click System.
Click the Device Manager tab and Double-click the Disk Drives
icon, then double-click on the hard drive icon to display its
properties.
* Click the System tab, and then click to select the DMA check
box.
Install the Direct X8 from the ImageMixer CD ROM.
Make sure your V-Ram is
0MB and over. To check this is to go to Start menu - to
program - to accessory - to system tools - to system
information. Click the Tool menu and - Windows and to Direct X
tools. Click the DISPLAY tag on the dialog box. There you
should be able to check how much MegaBytes is allocated for
memory.4. Try lowernig the resolution of your screen to
800X600 pixels and set capuring preferences to capture at
MPEG-1.
Try running the file on another program other than ImageMixer
and see if the result is the same.
Adjust the settings of capture preferences, and toggle the
preview window setting device.
Note: USB capturing is set to 15 minutes by default. You
cannot capture movies longer than 15 minutes.

I could capture the file but cannot play it.
Make sure you preview or play your captured movie files not from
the capture mode but from the Album mode.
Make sure you had installed the drivers correctly and DirextX 8.0
from the CD ROM.

How to brighten Up the image? The captured image is too dark.
From the camera side, while the camera is ON,
press the exposure button and the exposure bar will appear on the
LCD screen. Turn the SEL/PUSH EXEC dial to increase or decrease the
brightness. This have to be done before capturing or during
capturing to PC.

The picture I captured is of poor quality and jumpy.

What kinds of file format are possible to import in the import
file mode?
In the case of Windows
computers, BMP, JPEG or TIFF format for still picture files, AVI or
MPEG1 for movie files and WAVE or MP3 for sound files.
In the case of Macintosh computers, QuickTime for picture files,
movie files and sound files. Do not import GIF still picture files.

What is the difference between the import file mode and the album
mode?
Import file mode is when you copy a file to a place in your PC that
you already specify in your preferences and this file is shown in
your album as a thumbnail. The "Add thumbnail" in the album mode,
you do not copy the file to the album but you only register the
attributes and other information of the file to the album.

Can I import MP3 format sound files from my audio CD?
No, you cannot. You can only be able to import WAVE format sound
files.

I inserted my audio CD but the track list did not appear.
For Windows PC users, please check whether the CD-ROM drive where
you inserted the audio CD is correctly selected.
For Macintosh users, please check whether another CD player software
is already running.

Recording does not start when I click the recording button.
(There is a time lapse before recording begins.)
In order not to let your recorded data starting halfway, you will
have to save some time for your data. In short, you will have to
press the recording button before the start of the position you are
going to record.

Is it possible to record one complete song from start to finish?
For Macintosh users, drag and drop the track name to the list of
the album file thumbnails and you can easily record a complete song.
For Windows users, we are sorry, there is no immediate users support
at the moment.

The recorded sound quality is not so good. (There are lots of
noise interferences)
In cases when using the built-in mike of your
PC, noise interferences may occur due to the operations of the hard
disk, so we recommend you to use an external mike when recording.
Also check your sound control preference whether the volume control
had been set low.

I cannot hear any sound when I played the sound file; the volume
is too low.
a) Movie files captured from Windows 98 do not contain sound.
b) Make sure PC master volume is ON; and test with a different media
sound file to make sure PC produces sound. Open your sound control
preference and check whether the volume control level had been set
low.
c) USB driver has been installed properly and "Sony Digital Audio
Device" is selected on Imagemixer capture environment preference
setup.
d) No other conflicting movie editing software is present and DMA is
enabled.

I cannot record voice or sound while previewing a file in my
album.
The original file that corresponds to the file in your album
might have been deleted or damaged. If the place where the original
file was saved has been changed or removed, you cannot record nor
can you preview.

How do I
record still pictures taken by my camera?
Connect your camera and click the Still Picture Display button
(digital camera icon at the top left corner of the screen).
The still picture taken by your camera appears and by clicking the
Import button (right arrow icon at the top right corner) after
clicking and selecting the optional still picture, the still picture
is imported to the selected album.

Why does
my camera not get recognized?
Insert the DVD disc in your camera.
Check the USB cable connection.
Reconnect the USB cable.
When using a device such as a USB hub, connect the PC and the device
directly.
Select "view and edit" for the camera's mode dial.
