The capture environment allows you to capture still images, movies and sound. In this environment, you can import pictures and movies from your digital video camera and also record sound from your audio CD and mike.

Import file mode is when you copy a file to a place in your PC that you already specify in your preferences and this file is shown in your album as a thumbnail. My memory card does not show up on the screen. (Memory card cannot be confirmed)

Image Mixer searches for the memory card, and if they support each other, the content will be displayed. In other words, the memory card must be one that is used by a digital camera that is compatible with ImageMixer.

back

My memory card was confirmed but its contents (images) do not appear.

The memory card is empty or part of the content (images) in the memory card has been damaged.

Make sure the switch on the camera is on the correct setting to allow the PC to read images from the Memory Card. View your camera manual for the details. "Memory" has to be selected on camera mode switch, and the folders plus sub folders in the memory stick checked.

Choose the Memory Card option (icon) in the capture mode.

Probability that the files in the Memory Card has been damaged.

Make sure images are actually saved the memory stick and, try refreshing the data in Image mixer by clicking the button with the exclamation mark.

For some cameras, you need to install PTP manager. Please check your camera manual for details.

The recorded sound quality is not so good. (There are lots of noise interferences)

In cases when using the built-in mike of your PC, noise interferences may occur due to the operations of the hard disk, so we recommend you to use an external mike when recording. Also check your sound control preference whether the volume control had been set low.

back

I cannot hear any sound when I played the sound file; the volume is too low.

* Click the System tab, and then click to select the DMA check box.

"Check Mode on Camera" or "Camcorder cannot be found" message appears.

This means there is not yet a connection between the PC and the Camera. I can capture only images and no sound.

this is common with people using windows 98 (win 98 2nd edition is OK though).

By entering the preferences at the capture mode, the USB capture device has to be set to "Sony digital Imaging audio" for sound to be also captured.

Maybe the Master volume at the PC audio setting has been set to Mute. You can check that by double clicking the speaker icon on the lower right menu tray.

The driver has been installed wrongly (by connecting the USB cord to the PC before installing the driver). They would have to go to the device manager, and uninstall the USB driver and reinstall it without the USB cord attached to the PC. To delete the USB driver, they shoud go to the device manager, select the 3 drivers (Composite USB Divice, USB Audio Device and USB Device) that were installed incorrectly and delete them. reboot and reinstall the drivers again.

If all doesnt work, then something is wrong with the sound card in the PC.
