Apple’s iMovie and iDVD were not designed to work with MPEG files which have become popular with the invention of DVD and HDD camcorders like the JVC Everio.
Pixela’s Capty MPEG Edit EX, one of the applications bundled with your Everio, can convert files from MPEG2 format (used in the Everio) to Digital Video (DV) format so that you can easily import your files into Apple’s iMovie and iDVD applications.

1. Making a DVD with Pixela’s Capty MPEG Edit EX and mono DVD
Drag & Drop files from JVC Everio to Pixela’s mono DVD -->Burn DVD
* In this scenario, Capty MPEG Edit EX is used for editing the video only. You cannot add transitions or effects to the video like you do in iMovie or edit DVD menus like you do in iDVD. mono DVD will not create the DVD menus automatically. However, if you would like to add menus and do more advanced DVD authoring, please purchase Pixela’s Capty DVD/VCD 2 (special upgrade offer for JVC users)
For conversion times and the impact on your video quality, please refer to Chart A, “Capty MPEG Edit EX conversion times” below.
